The Butler Bag is a product created by Jen Groover. Jen was inspired by the common problem of digging through a purse in panic wondering whether something was lost or if she was holding up a line of people. Time after time, Jen thought, "There has to be a better way; there has to be a way to design the interior of a purse to be more functional but also fun and fashionable on the outside." As a creative person without boundaries, Jen took a dishwasher tray and placed it in her bag and "voila", everything had a place and was at her fingertips: cell phone, cosmetics, keys, etc. No more digging. She knew instantly that this was the solutions he had been searching for and knew other women would feel the same. Jen has re-invented the purse and elevated the expectations of purses forever.
Jen’s little stroke of genius graced the pages of magazines such as O Magazine, Accessories Magazine (as a "best of 2006"), Redbook, Us Weekly and Life & Style Magazine to name a few in only its first year, and walked the Red Carpet in both the Emmys, Miami Vice Premiere, and Video Music Awards. The bag is so popular that it has been known to open stores at a rapid pace and the sales have been beyond company and personal expectations. Within a year of its introduction to the market, and without spending a penny on advertising, the Butler Bag Company is on target to break many industry records.
More About Jen...
Labeling Jen Groover is like attempting to name every wave in the ocean - futile. Tagged by Success Magazine as a “One Woman Brand” and having drawn comparisons to Walt Disney and Benjamin Franklin, her name has quickly become synonymous with innovation, entrepreneurialism, and evolution. Not only has this product development expert masterminded and built her own companies (Butler Bag LLC, Jen Groover Productions LLC, and Jenuine Concepts LLC) but she also has assisted in the launch of over fifty other companies and, in the process, taken on more roles than a Shakespeare theatre. At a mere thirty-five years of age, she has gone from guest hosting spots on QVC to inking deals with some of the industry’s biggest heavyweights on her way to becoming one of the nation’s preeminent business experts.
As a testament to her business acumen, especially in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurialism, Jen has held the title of “Creativity and Innovation Guru” for Success Magazine. PBS’s Real Savvy Moms utilizes Jen as their business development expert and Collegepreneur Magazine includes Jen regularly as a lead contributor in their quest to inspire and ignite young entrepreneurial minds. Jen’s proactive and outside-the-lines approach to dilemmas facing all of us beyond the world of business is also showcased often in the cutting-edge Pathways Magazine.
Some of the highlights of Jen’s career so far are representative of just how diverse and multi-pronged her enterprise really is. She has appeared on or been featured in a myriad of A-list media outlets such as CBS, ABC News, CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch, the Bloomberg Network, and O-The Oprah Magazine, Success, Entrepreneur, and Redbook magazines, to name just a few of the many. She has the distinction of creating the Butler Bag - the world’s first inner-compartmentalized handbag - and then subsequently building one of the fastest growing handbag companies in history (being named Accessories Magazine’s “Best of 2006” in its first year of business) around it without the use of any paid advertisement. This feat is rendered all the more remarkable considering that the handbag industry is one of, if not the most, prohibitive and brand dominated industries known.
Jen’s uncanny ability to identify with, relate to, motivate, and inspire people of varying backgrounds and demographics has led her to become a highly sought after speaker, booking engagements that include everything from political conferences to women’s interest groups to charity fundraisers to the Learning Annex. Her fervor for such a broad range of issues such as entrepreneurial development, self-empowerment and leadership, education reform and the global economy has put her in front of diverse audiences at universities all over the country and as Girls Take Charge national spokesperson (as well as the prestigious GTC advisory chairperson), young females from some of the nation’s most challenged inner-cities.
Another significant conquest was the signing a major licensing deal with the brand management company behind Isaac Mizrahi’s Target line of apparel. This is a move that will allow not only her Butler Bags but all of her other brands, products, ideas, and scores of patents such as her children’s edutainment based toys and games, to branch out on a scale and to a degree that only the world’s top designers/manufacturers enjoy.
Also recently bestowed onto Jen have been such accolades and honors as the Momentum Award from Ceslie Network/Ceslie.com recognizing her as one of the best and brightest women in business. In addition, she was named as the “It Girl” by Tamsen Fadal’s Sassybean.com and “Femme of the Month” by the Femme Network. Jen also was a nominee for an EWomen Network’s International Femtor Award.
Perhaps even more impressive than these accomplishments and awards themselves, though, is the impossibly short amount of time it has taken Jen to get here; a phenomenon that reflects the changing landscape of our information technology and the speed of business today. Jen sits at the forefront of this global evolution because she allows her mind, creativity, and determination to be bound by nothing and therefore thrives from the challenges associated with adapting to this new world market.
Jen’s latest endeavor is Launchers Café, a multi-platform media outlet from which Jen takes her entrepreneurial message a step further by creating an interactive community where entrepreneurs of all levels can communicate and learn from top experts in all industries. This is a mission she feels adamantly about after mentoring so many entrepreneurs to success.
Jen Groover is simply a successful and balanced businesswoman who refuses to pick one box to fit into and instead thrives in all of them. Her religion is that of inspiration, creativity, and perseverance and it is reflected in her mantras “Have more fear or regret than failure” and “What if…? and Why not…?”. Jen will further these messages in the near future with such anticipated offerings as the release of her aptly titled first book, What if…? and Why not…? (for which she has already created and launched a blog of the same name www.whatifandwhynot.com) and various television productions that are guaranteed to push the envelope in terms of thought and function.
We are standing in the midst of the most dynamic yet volatile time in history and Jen Groover wakes up every morning driven by the excitement and knowledge that she can and is impacting lives and affecting change. The proverbial ball is in motion so keep a close eye out cause as the old saying goes, “You ‘aint seen nothin’ yet.” |
